Unveiling of heritage plaque | Terneuzen Town Hall officially designated national monument
The town hall of Terneuzen, home to ArtBase Terneuzen, will officially receive the status of national monument on Friday 12 June 2026. The building is one of the first of 15 new national monuments from the Post-65 period (1965–1990).
Programme Friday 12 June
At 16.00 the heritage plaque will be unveiled on the façade of the town hall by alderman Jeroen de Buck (Culture) together with Marjolein Verschuur, regional director of the Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed (Netherlands Cultural Heritage Agency).
This will be followed at 16.30 by a live performance and installation by visual artist Koen Delaere (1970, Netherlands) and drummer/composer Sun-Mi Hong (1990, Korea), presented by ArtBase, in which painting and jazz meet in improvisation, rhythm and mutual response.
To close this celebratory event, drinks will be served from 17.00 in the Burgerzaal on the 9th floor of the town hall.
During the weekend of 13 and 14 June, the performance installation will remain on view in the town hall.
