Moderator Marie Jeanne de Rooij will talk with artists and scientists about resilient and vulnerable nature, the (cultural) landscape as inspiration, about a new and sustainable balance between human-art-nature and the concept of symbiocene. 

COEXISTENCE: Theory and practice
Artist Maartje Korstanje, curator of the exhibition, talks about the concept of the exhibition and about her own artistic practice in which she researches and applies new, sustainable materials and techniques. Philosopher and political scientist Erno Eskens advocates for more rights for animals and nature. His Zoological Manifesto. Rights for everything that lives was recently published on this topic. With Stef van Bellingen, director of WARP in Sint Niklaas, we will delve deeper into the cultural possibilities, contradictions and possible cross-pollination in the border region along the Ghent-Terneuzen canal.

The conversations also focus on the special cultural relationship and connections between the Netherlands (Zeeuws-Vlaanderen) and Flanders with the Ghent-Terneuzen canal as a symbolic trait d'union.
